I had the exciting opportunity to design “Непроведени Разговори по Телефона” (Unmade Phone Calls), the debut poetry book of young and talented author Dimitar Trifonov. The collection tells the story of a troubled mind exploring the complexities of mental health and the way it can shift one's life. The collection is structured around poems framed as different phone calls, each belonging to a specific emotional state. These states are organised into chapters, represented visually by a rotary dial which helps map the reader’s journey through the poet’s inner struggles and reflections.

At the heart of the design is a vivid red telephone, a symbol of self-contemplation and unresolved dialogue. It appears on the cover alongside the title, both hand-painted in raw strokes—imperfect, uneasy, and intentionally unsettling to reflect the fragile and intense nature of the emotions expressed, while the back cover dramatically concludes the narrative with the phone dropped to the floor, hinting at both collapse and catharsis.

I am deeply grateful to the author and the publishing house for making this release possible.
