This magazine series questions how food production sacrifices authenticity for scale, beauty, and profitability. Behind the polished exterior of “perfect” foods lies a truth of unsustainable practices, environmental harm, biological manipulation and a detachment from natural roots. The visuals take these ideas to an extreme level, depicting food not as it is but as it might become: distorted, reimagined, and unrecognisable. Through the lens of “unnatural abundance,” the project provokes reflection on a future where food production priorities efficiency and aesthetics over sustainability and authenticity. It challenges viewers to confront the consequences of continuing on this path without awareness or intervention.
